Commuter calculator

The Ministry of Finance calculator works out the Austrian commuter allowance (Pendlerpauschale) and commuter euro for your journey to work. The result is the official form L 34 EDV – the basis for your annual tax assessment or for the allowance to be applied in payroll.

What you need

  • the exact address of your home
  • the exact address of your place of work
  • your usual start and finish times
  • the number of journeys per calendar month

And then?

You either give the result to your employer, so that it is applied in payroll month by month, or you claim it later in your annual tax assessment.

If your home, your workplace or your working hours change, the calculator has to be run again – the earlier result loses its validity.
